RAM is an abbreviation for Random Access Memory. This is a type of computer memory, that, unlike other storage devices like harddrives or DVDs, permits the data to be accessed directly without reading the previous content located within it. Every time a program is started, it is stored inside the RAM, as it may be accessed considerably quicker than if it was read from another media device. With regard to the website hosting service itself, additional RAM means that more web apps can work simultaneously on a certain server, particularly if they're resource-demanding and are accessed by a large amount of people at the same time. Not like a shared web hosting solution where the system resources of a particular account may be flexible and often depend on what other users consume too, a VPS features a guaranteed amount of RAM you can use always. That memory is allotted to one server only and shall not be used by other customers even when it is not used.

Guaranteed RAM in VPS Servers

If you choose to host your Internet sites on a VPS server bought from our company, the amount of RAM that you'll get with it will be guaranteed and shall be available at all times no matter what. The VPS accounts are set up on highly effective servers and when your virtual server is set up, the RAM memory included with the particular plan shall be "locked", so even if you use a little part of it ultimately while another VPS account is using virtually all of its system resources, we won't assign the free RAM from your account even for the short term. This is valid when you upgrade the whole memory of the virtual server too - the additional amount will be added to your account fully. You will be able to upgrade either the entire plan or just the server’s RAM with a couple of clicks through the billing CP.

Guaranteed RAM in Dedicated Servers

The amount of RAM that comes with each dedicated server that we offer you is sufficient enough even for quite resource-demanding web applications. The memory shall be available for your sites and every other software you install on the server at all times, so if at some point you use merely a fraction of the system resources which you have, we will never alter the hardware configuration you have ordered. All of the parts are tested before the hosting server is built, including the RAM sticks, to ensure that you'll get a flawlessly performing web server that can ensure the best possible performance for your websites. The amount of physical memory that you have shall be listed together with the full server configuration specifications in your billing Control Panel.
