A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to invalid email addresses under the same domain name. For example, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can receive email messages from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you’ve got a Linux shared hosting plan with us and you wish to activate the catch-all option for a particular email mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it’ll take literally just a single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in your account. You can pick one email address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all messages sent to miswritten email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. If you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notice and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled without effort in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be enumerated in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you will find a small sign handily situated directly next to each of them. With only one click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference as long as there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already enabled and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and enable this option through the contextual menu that will come into view. In case any of the conditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not matched, our system will inform you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
