When the .NET generic top-level extension was initially introduced in 1985, along with the first domains on the web, it was intended to be used by Internet Service Providers or infrastructure establishments. Because there were no specific prerequisites about the usage of the top-level domain, though, dot NET domains were purchased and used for diverse purposes and by a lot of people. This domain extension represents a good substitute of dot COM, notably if the necessary domain with the latter domain extension is not free for registration.
Reserving a .NET domain with our company is as easy as pie and takes no more than a couple of minutes, given that we work with an ICANN-certified registrar company. You can order such a domain for a period between one and ten years, or, if you already have a domain, you can move it over to our firm and we will renew it as soon as the transfer process is finished. Transfers are possible for all domain names, which are at least 60 days old, provided that they are not locked and that you have received an EPP transfer code – security measures introduced by the .NET Registry organization against unauthorized transfers. You can easily correct the WHOIS info of the domain through your Control Panel tool, or, if you wouldn't like this information to be public at all, you can get a Whois Privacy Protection service, so nobody will be able to obtain your true contact details.
The .NET domain extension supports internationalized names, so you can select whether you want to target a specific country or area using a domain name in the local language, or the global online community – using a generic English name.
